• Y5 football

  Today our Y5 football team won through to the next round of the cup, with a 2-1 victory against Weetwood. Strawberry Fields dominated the first half and led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Blake and Jacob, though our lead could and should have been greater. In the second half, we were playing into a strong wind and the game evened up. Weetwood pulled a goal back early in the half and the game was then close, with both teams having further attempts at goal. Luckily, the game ended with score still at 2-1 to us! Well done to all the boys - they played some great football and were fantastic representatives for our school in their behaviour and attitude to the game.

• Y5/6 boys' football

  We were very proud to reach the final of this year's Y5/6 boys' football tournament. The final, against Green Lane, ended nil-nil, though we came closest to winning when Oliver's shot rebounded back off the post! Sadly, in the penalty shoot-out that followed we lost out, meaning we finished the tournament as runners up. It was a seriously grim and cold night - thank you to all the children and adults who braved the weather!
