Nursery applications and information

If you would like to visit our school before applying for a nursery place for your child, please contact Miss Moira Daniels either by email info@sfpsch.org.uk or by telephoning the school office 0113 2320796.

Children are eligible to attend nursery school in the term after they turn three.

Applications for January 2023 are now closed.  It is unlikely we will be doing an April intake as all sessions are full but if you would like to email school at the above email address after 9th January 2023 we can confirm if this is still the situation.

If you wish to express an interest for a nursery place for a younger child please contact the school office.

Nursery Application Form and Admissions Policy 2022-23

We follow the Leeds City Council Early Years Admissions Guidance.  If you are allocated a place, you will be contacted the term prior to your child's admission date to arrange a visit to our nursery and attend an informal meeting, where a home visit can be arranged.

Parents of children attending nursery are required to follow the Leeds City Council procedures for applying for a Reception place.  Please note a place in our nursery does not guarantee a place in our school.

The option of two and half days will incur a childcare charge of £5.40 as your child will be at the setting for 16 hours per week.

Children are able to bring a packed lunch if they are here for the full day, but we would encourage the children who attend all day sessions to have a school lunch, which currently costs £2.09 per day and consists of a hot cooked lunch and a dessert.

When children start nursery, parents are issued a login to ParentPay, the online cashless system we use for all payments.

We also offer a limited number of 30 hour places and they will be allocated using the school’s nursery admissions criteria. Eligibility criteria can be found here: Gov.uk website

Please be aware that the 30 hour offer at Strawberry Fields is as follows:
Monday to Friday 8.45 a.m. to 3.15 p.m. Therefore your child would be attending the unit for 32 ½ hours a week. There would be a charge of £13.50 per week for this additional childcare.

If you qualify and wish to apply for this option please put this as an option on your nursery application form.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FEEE*

If your child attends more than one setting, funding will be allocated on a pro-rata basis where you choose to access the FEEE* funding between two providers.

However, please  note that is extremely important that you do not try to claim the full 30 or 15 hour entitlement at two or more settings.   If you knowingly do this you are committing fraud and both Strawberry Fields Primary School as the provider and the Local Authority will seek the funding back in full.

All children have access to fruit, milk and water in every session.
