Thanks you to all parents who have been so supportive and helpful during the recent snowy weather brought by 'The Beast from the East'! It was great to be able to get the children out into the snow to have a play one day.
On Tuesday evening our Y4 boys' football team was involved in one of the most exciting school football matches I have ever known! We played in the second round of the cup again Carr Manor Primary School. The pitch was still recovering from the previous week's snow, so was a bit boggy, but the standard of football was excellent nevertheless. Carr Manor scored an early goal and I feared the worst, but we equalised through Jacob shortly afterwards. Both teams then had excellent chances to win but nobody was able to score, meaning the score was still 1-1 at full time. The commitment and sportsmanship from both teams was admirable. We agreed to play two short periods of extra time and, unfortunately, Carr Manor scored in the first half and held on, meaning we lost 2-1. Congratulations to Carr Manor, and good luck in the next round of the cup. It is a very difficult decision, but our man-of-the-match was Bobby, who made some heroic goal-saving tackles in defence and brought the ball forward skillfully when we attacked.
