• Year 1/2 Rugby Taster

  This term the children from Year 1/2 have had the opportunity to practice their rugby skills during their P.E lessons with the help of staff from the Leeds Rhinos. 

   

  Ian Hardman, the East Leeds Development Officer said “I hope all the children enjoyed the sessions and look forward to working in your school again in the future.”  The feedback from the children has been very positive and a number have gone along to taster sessions at Garforth Tigers.

• Inspire Event Success

  This year we have started to run some ‘Inspire’ events. These events give children the opportunity to invite a parent or grandparent into school to work alongside them on a piece of work, with emphasis on collaboration. This term’s theme has been ‘Art’. If children are unable to bring a grown-up, we always pair them up with another adult or child, so don’t worry if you have been unable to attend!

  These events also give parents an opportunity to find out a little more about how things work at Strawberry Fields and to see their child working in the school setting.

  The events so far have been with the Year 5 and 6 classes and have been very well attended and successful. The children (and adults!) have produced some high-quality artwork. Thank you to any parents/grandparents who have attended so far. Next half-term’s Inspire events will be with Years 1 and 2.
