Six of our children took part in a debating competition at Iveson Primary school yesterday morning. The proposal was 'Children up to the age of 11 should be able to choose their own bedtime'.
Seth, James and Holly were arguing in favour of this proposal. They won their initial debate, taking them into a 'play-off' for the finals, where they lost in a very close debate.
Charlie, Emily and Bailey were arguing against this proposal. Once again, their debate was close but they did not win through to the next round.
We were exceptionally proud of all six children - they spoke clearly and eloquently and worked so hard to prepare their arguments, practising and improving them at home overnight and in the car all the way there!
Well done all of you!
