African Voices is a project where African students from the University of Leeds work in schools sharing information about life in African with the children. On 8th June we were lucky enough to have three students come to work with our Y5/6 children. Mr Henshall says….
"The African Voices day was a fantastic addition to the children’s learning. It was brilliant to see the children so interested in learning about Africa with Yemi, Nura and Ademola delivering their ideas in an accessible way. The use of photos and their own personal experiences really helped to give the children a picture of what life is like in Africa and particularly Nigeria. There is no doubt that the children now have a more detailed perspective of Africa. The children loved finding out about how important dance is to daily life and they all really enjoyed the dancing that they did in the afternoon."
