Trips and visits in early 2023

In the second week of term, our Y3/4 children all visited the West Yorkshire Playhouse to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The experience of visiting the theatre was magical in itself, but having studied the book before Christmas, it was lovely to see the children's excitement as they recognised characters and events from the story that they had studied and discussed in class. The beaming faces of every child as they returned to school told a story - they had had a wonderful time! As ever, their behaviour was impeccable.

Last week, our Key Stage 1 children visited the Abbey House Museum to complement their history learning about the Victorians. The visit was fascinating. The children loved seeing the Victorian streets and shop fronts, as well as handling some of the artefacts and learning about how they were used. They were thoughtful and respectful throughout the day and the teachers came back to school very proud of them!

We were also delighted to host our first Inspire Event for 3 years last week. All three Y3/4 classes invited parents, carers and grandparents in to school to learn a bit more about learning and Strawberry Fields, and to take part in a sample writing lesson. The feedback was absolutely lovely! All phases in school will have either an Inspire event or a Stay and Play in the coming weeks.

Feedback from the events can be found here.
