On March 4th, seven members of our eco-council visited Arla dairies. The children really enjoyed the visit (especially the flavoured milks!) and learned more about how the factory works. The project was organised in conjunction with Rethink Food and linked to work done in school using our growing tower. The children had seeded the tower earlier in the term and then wrote stories about what happened next to Daisy from Jack and the Beanstalk after she had been sold, which they told to younger children around the tower on World Book Day. The following week, the tower was harvested and every member of the eco-council was given a bag of fresh, school-grown salad to take home!
