These sessions are offered over two and a half days, including morning and afternoon sessions.

When children attend for a full day (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, Friday) they eat their lunch with members of nursery staff. Lunch will be provided, the current cost is £2.30 per day. Please pay this in advance using ParentPay, the online cashless system.  Parents are issued a login when their child starts at nursery.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FEEE*

If your child attends more than one setting, funding will be allocated on a pro-rata basis where you choose to access the FEEE* funding between two providers.

However, please  note that is extremely important that you do not try to claim the full 15 hour entitlement at two or more settings.   If you knowingly do this you are committing fraud and both Strawberry Fields Primary School as the provider and the Local Authority will seek the funding back in full.

All children have access to fruit, milk and water in every session.

* FEEE Free Early Education Entitlement

With effect from September 2017 the Government has introduced a new childcare choice.  Parents meeting specific criteria will be eligible for 30 hours free childcare.

Will I qualify for 30 hours free childcare?

Parents of three and four year olds will need to meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for 30 hours free childcare.

  • They earn or expect to earn the equivalent to 16 hours at National Minimum or Living Wage over the coming three months.
  • This equates to £120 a week (or c.£6,000 a year) for each parent over 25 years old or £112.80 per week (or c.£5,800 a year) for each parent between 21 and 24 years old.
  • This applies whether you are in paid employment, self-employment or on zero hours contract.
  • The parent (and their partner where applicable) should be seeking the free childcare to enable them to work.
  • Where one or both parents are on maternity, paternity, shared parental or adoption leave, or if they are on statutory sick pay.
  • Where one parent meets the income criteria and the other is unable to work because they are disabled, have caring responsibilities or have been assessed as having limited capability to work.
  • Where a parent is in a ‘start-up period’ (i.e. they are newly self-employed) they do not need to demonstrate that they need to meet the income criteria for 12 months.
  • If a non-EEA national, the parent must have recourse to public funds.

Who will not qualify?

A parent will not meet the criteria when:

  • Either parent has an income of more than £100,000.
  • Either parent is a non-EEA national and subject to immigration control (and has no recourse to public funds).

What happens if a parent loses eligibility?

  • They will receive a ‘grace period’ – this means they will be able to keep their childcare for a short period.
  • Once the ‘grace period’ has lapsed, the parent may be entitled to the universal 15 hour entitlement.

Information from Department of Education. Published March 2017.

If you qualify and wish to apply for this option please put this as an option on your nursery application form.

Please be aware that the 30 hour offer at Strawberry Fields is as follows:
Monday to Friday 8.45 a.m. to 3.15 p.m.  Therefore your child would be attending the unit for 32 ½ hours a week.  There would be a charge of £13.50 per week for this additional childcare.

As this is a new scheme we are allocating a limited number of places and they will be allocated using the school’s nursery admissions criteria.
If you do not qualify or do not wish to apply for 30 hours please be aware that the option of two and half days will incur a childcare charge of £5.40 as your child will be at the setting for 16 hours per week.
